It’s marathon season again—and yes, I’m back at it.
But more importantly, it’s another chance for me to stay true to something I promised myself when I started running the majors: that every marathon I run shall be in support of a cause that deserves to be heard.
This year, as I train for the Amsterdam Marathon I’ve chosen to support Endometriose Stichting, a Dutch charity working to raise awareness around Endometriosis—a painful condition where tissue similar to the uterus lining grows outside of it, affecting 1 in 10 women. And yet… so few even know what it is.
I didn’t either, until someone close to me shared her story. That in itself was reason enough—because if I didn’t know, I’m sure so many others don’t either.
To add to that, this year, I’ve convinced two incredible women to attempt their very first marathon with me. Three women, roughly across three generations, taking this on together!
So it felt only right to run for a cause rooted in women’s health. Something that needs more awareness, empathy, and conversation.
If this speaks to you, I’d love your support—whether that’s a donation, a share, or just taking a moment to read up about endo.
Every little bit counts.
