ISCOMS 2023 is committed to Stichting Merels Wereld this year! The aim of ‘Stichting Merels Wereld’ is to raise awareness surrounding lung cancer with the ROS1 mutation and to contribute to increasing survival rates and a better quality of life for patients diagnosed with this type of lung cancer. Stichting Merels Wereld On November 2014 Merel got diagnosed with lung cancer spread to her lymph nodes in the trachea and neck. Mutation research showed that the ROS1 translocation is responsible for the growth of the tumour. The ROS1 mutation is rare and occurs in less than 2% of all people diagnosed with lung cancer. The foundation opened in 2016 and since then Merel is collecting money for the fund.
