Clean water is critically important to Bacardi and to the planet. One of the ways to keep our waterways clean is by keeping them free of plastics, such as straws. That's why in 2016, we made a bold statement by announcing that Bacardi would phase out single-use plastic straws and stirrers at in-house events.
We recognize that our original #NoStraws pledge was just one step in the fight against plastic pollution. That's why we are also committing to review our entire supply chain, with the aim of removing non-essential, non-recyclable single-use plastic waste.
The Plastic Soup foundation is also fighting again plastic pollution in our waters, so that is why we chose them as the receipient of the money we collect with our Christmas lottery. We encourage all employees to buy lots of tickets for the christmasparty lottery to support the plastic soup foundation.
