Simply running…
In the past years the disease of cancer has touched our family a number of times. And it does not matter whether a father, an uncle or a young niece, it hurts the same every time to see loved ones in pain. Where we succeed to daily solve the most difficult engineering challenges, the challenge of Curing Cancer is still right in front of us.
As a traveler I am often far away, but from afar I think I have a way of contributing a small piece of the cure. I can run…. and I will do just that!
On 19 March 2017 I will participate in the Seoul marathon, after which with your help I hope to donate a large sum to the Dutch KIKA foundation, which channels all donations received into research that benefits understanding and curing kids cancer.
“Just” 42 kilometers of challenge for me, just some small steps compared to the pain and effort that cancer patients have to go through. So I run for my hero’s – those that battle cancer now and my one big hero for whom the fighting is unfortunately already over.
