End-of-year donation to Reclaimed Voices

Touched by the many stories of sexual child abuse within the Jehovah's Witnesses, I would like to continue to work for  survicvors of abuse next year.
Together with Frank Huiting and Aswin Suierveld we fight for an environment in which children can grow up safely, even if this happens to be in a closed religious community.

Over the past year, the Reclaimed Voices Foundation has been very successful in:
- collecting stories of sexual abuse within the Jehovah's Witnesses
- involving the House of Representatives and the government in the subject of sexual abuse within the Jehovah's Witnesses
- hold discussions with the police, the Public Prosecution Service and professionals about the problematic approach of sexual abuse within the Jehovah's WItnesses.
- using the media to bring our message to the general public
- writing background articles and reports

What has been achieved so far?
- the House of Representatives unanimously adopted a motion calling on the government to conduct an independent investigation into Jehovah's Witnesses sexual abuse policy
- a number of persons have filed a report to the police. As as a result of this the police and the Public Prosecution Service have started a criminal investigation
- a Manifesto has been written
- A peaceful protest has been organized.

Next year Reclaimed Voices would like to:
- translate its website into English so that the information will be available for an international public
- organinze workshops for professionals
- organize small meetings for abuse survivors
