Proportion Foundation realises social businesses in Bangladesh, Colombia and Kenya. In Kenya the social business is called "Vijana Reloaded" with the purpose to create youth employment and contribute to the food security of tomorrow.
Currently, 42% of the population in Kenya unemployed. 70% of them are young people between 18-35 years. Vijana Reloaded focuses on the young people who are motivated to create their own opportunities and jobs.
Vijana Reloaded provides a 6 months entrepreneurial training for young talents with a business idea to actually start and realise their own business.
The first VR Training Centre in Kakamega (Western Kenya) has proven its success and therefore Vijana Reloaded now dreams of having a dense network of VR training centers throughout rural Kenya, where there is a untapped potential in the agricultural and animal rearing sector.
