Nova Hogenboom is een meisje van 4 jaar oud met Cerebrale Parese. Cerebrale Parese is een verzamelnaam voor verschillende soorten hersenschade. Bij Nova betekent het dat ze spastisch is in haar armen en benen en afhankelijk is van zorg van haar ouders. Nova kan niet zelfstandig eten, zitten, praten en lopen.Voor al deze zaken krijgt Nova sinds haar geboorte wekelijks therapie. Hiervoor moet ze naar het revalidatiecentrum in Leiden. Tijdens deze therapieën gaan fysiotherapeuten, ergotherapeuten, logopedisten en kinderartsen met haar aan de slag om Nova toch zoveel mogelijk te leren en te proberen zelfstandig te maken.Specifieke therapieen, bijvoorbeeld om te leren lopen zijn duur en kun je niet zomaar even doen. Toch komt Nova in aanmerking voor de speciale therapie: 'Auf die beine'. Een therapie van de Rehaklinik in Duitsland die een hoog succespercentage heeft om kinderen met onder andere Cerebrale Parese te leren lopen. Door een speciale interne therapie, gevolgd met intense thuistherapie leren ze de kinderen stap voor stap hun spieren beter te controleren en zo (beter) te lopen.
De therapie 'Auf die beine' kost €8.000 en wij zouden Nova graag een handje (of voetje) willen helpen door ons steentje bij te dragen en te helpen met het financieren van deze therapie. Hierna zal er geld besteed moeten worden aan een speciaal busje om Nova te kunnen vervoeren en extra middelen om haar te helpen.

In Nova's case, it means she has spastic arms and legs and is dependent on her parents' care. Nova cannot eat, sit, talk and walk independently. For all these things, Nova has received weekly therapy since her birth. For this she has to go to the rehabilitation center in Leiden. During these therapies, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and paediatricians work with her to teach Nova as much as possible and to try to make it independent. Specific therapies, for example to learn to walk, are expensive and you cannot just do it. Yet Nova is eligible for the special therapy: 'Auf die beine'. A therapy from the Rehaklinik in Germany that has a high success rate in teaching children with cerebral palsy, among other things. Through a special internal therapy, followed by intense home therapy, they teach the children step by step to better control their muscles and thus walk (better). The therapy 'Auf die beine' costs € 8,000 and we would like to give Nova a helping hand (or foot) by doing our bit and helping to finance this therapy. After this, money will have to be spent on a special van to transport Nova and extra resources to help her.
