Global Montessori Games 2019 - Nijmegen
De allereerste Global Montessori Games vinden van 16 tot en met 21 september 2019 plaats op onze school in Nijmegen.
Tijdens dit evenement maken onze leerlingen kennis met culturen uit alle windstreken. De deelnemers komen laagdrempelig in contact met elkaar in een week vol sport, cultuur, samenwerken en plezier maken. Dat alles volgens de echte Olympische gedachte waar het niet om winnen gaat maar om meedoen.
Deze week zal in het teken staan van elkaar leren kennen en kennis nemen van elkaars culturen!
Leerlingen en docenten van middelbare Montessori scholen komen samen in Nijmegen. De volgende landen hebben komen naar Nijmegen: Tsjechië, Kroatië, Duitsland, Noorwegen, Peru en China.
Teams bestaan uit 12 leerlingen (zes jongens en zes meisjes). Onze buitenlandse gasten zullen verblijven in een Nederlands gastgezin waardoor het contact nog intenser zal zijn.
Een kleine greep uit het programma:
De openingsceremonie zal plaatsvinden in het Goffert Stadion van N.E.C. Elk land zal zich hier presenteren middels muziek, dans, eten en drinken. De leerlingen zullen een tweetal dagen aan sport (typisch Nederlandse sporten) doen die populair zijn in Nederland. Tijdens een workshopmiddag zullen andere sporten en thema’s zoals duurzaamheid, gezondheid, bewegen en de Nederlandse cultuur aan bod komen. Eén dag zal in het teken staan van de oudste stad van Nederland. Amsterdam zal ook bezocht worden tijdens deze week. Verschillende musea zullen bezocht worden en er is tijd voor enkele speciale activiteiten. De week zal afgesloten worden met een knallend en pijnlijk afscheidsfeest.
Jaarlijks willen we een Global Montessori Games organiseren. Het zal steeds in een ander land plaatsvinden. Hierin zijn de mogelijkheden oneindig. We kunnen varieren in leeftijdcategorie, jaargetijden en werelddeel. Leerlingen zullen lessen voor het leven krijgen.
De Global Montessori Games worden georganiseerd door onze non-profit stichting GAMES. Met de stichting Global Association of Montessori Education and Sports willen we vele Montessorianen over de gehele wereld verbinden met elkaar.
Als organisatie zijn we op zoek naar giften om dit evenement, onze eigen leerlingen en onze gasten, nog memorabeler te maken. Alvast dank voor uw steun!

Global Montessori Games 2019-Nijmegen
The very first Global Montessori Games take place from 16 to 21 September 2019 at our school in Nijmegen.
During this event, our pupils are introduced to cultures from all corners of the world. The participants come into contact with each other in a week full of sport, culture, collaboration and fun making. All that according to the real Olympic thought that it is not about to win, but to participate.
This week will be in the sign of knowing each other and taking note of each other's cultures!
Pupils and teachers of high-school Montessori schools meet in Nijmegen. The following countries have come to Nijmegen: Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Norway, Peru and China.
Teams consist of 12 pupils (six boys and six girls). Our foreign guests will stay in a Dutch host family, which will make the contact even more intense.
A small selection of the program:
The opening ceremony will take place at the Goffert Stadium of N.E.C. each country will present itself here through music, dance, food and drink. The pupils will do two days of sport (typical Dutch sports) that are popular in the Netherlands. During a workshop afternoon, other sports and themes such as sustainability, health, exercise and Dutch culture will be discussed. One day will be the sign of the oldest city in the Netherlands. Amsterdam will also be visited during this week. Several museums will be visited and there is time for some special activities. The week will be closed with a popping and painful farewell party.
Every year we want to organise a Global Montessori Games. It will always take place in another country. The possibilities are endless. We can vary in age category, seasons and part of the world. Pupils will receive lessons for life.
The Global Montessori Games are organized by our non-profit foundation GAMES. With the foundation Global Association of Montessori Education and Sports we want to connect many Montessorianen all over the world.
As an organisation, we are looking for gifts to make this event, our own pupils and our guests, even more memorable. Thanks in advance for your support!
