Samburu County is an area in the arid and dry north of Kenya. This part of Kenya is sensitive to extreme weather conditions such as prolonged droughts. The high food insecurity and the directly linked malnutrition of the people in this area leads to high rates of illness and death. This project aims to provide as many poor families as possible with native fruit trees. The households will undergo prior training on planting and caring for the trees. Our partner Sadhana Forest provides these trainings and monitors and assists with every tree planted.
