Support the 20th HIRDA Amsterdam Futsal Tournament (AFT) ( Youth with A refugee background)
This December (20–21, 2025), HIRDA Foundation will host the 20th edition of the HIRDA Amsterdam Football Tournament at Sporthallen Zuid, Amsterdam. What began in 2004 as a small community sports event has now grown into the largest Somali diaspora sports and cultural gathering in Europe. We are dedicating the tournament to youth with a refugee background.
Why This Matters
For young refugees, life in a new country can be overwhelming limited networks, cultural barriers, and fewer opportunities to shine. Many of them struggle to feel at home or to find platforms where their talents are seen.
The HIRDA Amsterdam Football Tournament provides:
- A stage for talent: more than 240 young players will compete and learn from professional coaches.
- A community of belonging: refugee and diaspora youth come together with Dutch society in a positive, safe space.
- Culture and pride: Somali artists, poets, and performers will celebrate heritage and resilience.
- Inspiration and role models : connecting youth with leaders, athletes, and cultural advocates.
Our Goal for 2025
Engage 500+ young refugees and diaspora youth in football and workshops.Welcome 1,000 visitors over two days of sports and cultural activities.Celebrate 20 years of building bridges between communities.
