Primary School Kids Play Hockey for India

Help us raise as much money as possible for underprivileged children in India!

Rotaryclub IJmond likes to give children from IJmond a super fun sports day and at the same time we want to raise as much money as possible for the Bovelander Foundation. This foundation was founded by Floris Jan Bovelander, former Olympic and world hockey champion. He organises school hockey projects for children and young adults from underprivileged areas in India, to support their development through sport.

In his international career as a top hockey player, Floris Jan Bovelander experienced the connecting power of sport and club life. He decided to use that power for children in underprivileged areas in India. The choice of India was not accidental. The country was at the top of the world rankings for years and hockey is still popular there. As a hockey international, Floris Jan regularly played in India and came to love this country.
