Our team, representing VTTI colleagues from our terminals in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and our headquarters in Rotterdam and London, is excited to cycle the Gran Fondo cycling race in Amsterdam in May 2018. We would like to dedicate our efforts to the important work of Villa Joep*, and we would like to raise donations to support their activities in finding a cure for children neuroblastoma.
We are keen to raise at least 300 euro each – and we are hoping for your support! Please join us in contributing to this important goal today and support our team in our effort. VTTI will double the total amount of donations. We will in turn run the best race we can!
*Villa Joep is a foundation that collects money to fund international research to find a cure for children neuroblastoma. This is an aggressive form of children’s cancer, whereby – very sadly – 65-75% of the children who are diagnosed with the most severe case of neuroblastoma do not survive. Neuroblastoma is fortunately not a widespread form of cancer, but the consequence of this is that funding to find a cure is a bit more tough, and private initiatives like ours are needed to support the fight against this deadly form of cancer. Luckily, some children do survive, and with the continued investment in research, this number will hopefully increase rapidly.
Villa Joep is an initiative of the parents of Joep, a little boy of 4 years who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma and who died from this horrible disease in October 2003. Ever since, they have made fighting Neuroblastoma their mission in life and they have founded Villa Joep, a platform for people like us, who are willing and able to support a great cause like this.
