MAICOL CORTEZ SKATEBOARDING TOTAL
My name is Maicol Cortez, and I am a skateboarder from Neiva Colombia. Recently, I decided to travel from Colombia to Europe to achieve my goals in a country with more opportunities. That's why I was delighted that when I came to Amsterdam, people made me feel welcome from day 1. For the first time, I received many compliments and support for my skateboard talent. Also, it felt nice to share my skateboard talent with the dutch kids and skateboard talents. When the people from The Netherlands made me feel at home, I felt like giving something back to this country/society.
One of my dreams is to build up a good future and start working in Amsterdam NL. My interests for giving something back to Amsterdam NL are helping kids teaching skateboarding, help the dutch national skateboard team (girls or boys)with coaching, help to promote dutch starting skateboarding companies, and learn about and study physiotherapy to help injured skateboarders.
Right now, I am not a European resident yet. So that's why I need a permit to stay in The Netherlands. Now one of the possibilities to get a license is as a professional athlete with benefits. It's an absolute big dream to have a career in skateboarding in a country where I feel safe and respected. And, ofcourse, I understand it's an excellent opportunity to do this in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Something which is not so easy in Colombia. But with having an enormous talent in skateboarding, I feel the urge to use my skill for a skateboard career in The Netherlands, Europe.
To achieve all these goals and make this dream come true, I need to invest in..
*Leges which have to be paid to IND immigration service NL -- € 500,-
*Flight to Colombia and back to do the permit paperwork at the dutch ambassy in Bogota Colombia -- € 2000,-
*Laywer expenses -- € 2500,-
A total of € 5 000 is needed
I am aware that this is a lot of money. However, it will be the most significant chance of my life. As a young guy from Colombia, I am super grateful to get this chance. All reason to be of service for many years in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Help kids, help companies, help people from the local society in general.
