Big Apple Marathon

Last year, I ran the Windy City. This year I made it through Paris and now, it is about time to concur the one and only New York City Marathon ! I will run with 9 colleagues and friends of Aon in the Netherlands, raising funds for Laureus, the sport for good foundation. We will be joined by a team of Laureus itself, including its Chairman, Prince Pieter-Christiaan van Oranje and Ambassador Edwin van der Sar who will run his first marathon ever ! For me personaly, NY will be a special challenge. For some time, it seemed I could not free up my weekend to run NY. Consequently, I completed the Amsterdam marathon on October 16 in 4.41.55. Only to discover on October 18 that running NY would be possible... two marathons in three weeks time will be a big challenge. Running for Laureus, with the fun and cheering of all spectators in NY, will hopefully get me over the finishline; time is not important, it will be all about enjoying the experience ! As a special treat and a gesture for your confidence in me, three offical NY Marathon caps (see fotos) - with the signature of Edwin van der Sar - will be handed over to three of my sponsors through lottery (every Euro donated will give you 1 lottery ticket... ) !
