CPC 2017

I have been running for a few years…it has been fun and fitness for me. On March the 12th, I will be running with a very special purpose! I will run the CPC 2017 with my whole heart & soul for those who can’t run. A colleague of mine has a daughter with OI (Osteogenesis Imperfecta). She has set up a Foundation to improve the quality of life of people with OI. I want to help them with my run.OI, also known as brittle bone disease, is a bone disorder characterized by bones that are prone to fracture. The fractures can cause acute or chronic pain and a reduced quality of life. Children with OI can break their bones like crystal. People with OI can break 300 times in a life time. They are often prevented to participate in normal activities, facing isolation in addition to all the physical pain. There is currently no cure for OI. Care4BrittleBones would like to fund a project that will – for the first time ever – review what physiotherapy can help to strengthen the body of OI children. There is evidence that more physical activity does help to enhance the bone density also of children with OI. It just needs a gentle help from us… you and me… to enable it.
